Nepal’s National Independence Requires Cooperation Among Pro-Change Forces

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has emphasized the need for cooperation among pro-change political forces to protect the country’s national independence.

Addressing a unity and training program of the NCP’s Madhes Province Committee in Janakpur, Chairman Dahal stated that the country’s national independence, constitution, and federal system are facing challenges from various quarters, making cooperation among political parties that have struggled for change imperative.

Chairman Dahal noted, ‘From the 12-point agreement to the Constituent Assembly and constitution-making, cooperation among political parties is essential.’ He emphasized that cooperation is necessary among parties ranging from the communist left to the Nepali Congress.

Chairman Dahal mentioned that his party has taken the initiative to unite the communist left and is also making efforts to cooperate with the CPN (UML). He added that his party has given high priority to strengthening the party in Madhes Province, as failing to do so would not only affect the party’s future but also the country’s.

Chairman Dahal announced that the party plans to include 50% of youth in various committees during the upcoming general convention in Mangsir. The training program, which aims to convey the message of unity among various communist factions, will feature top leaders, including Chairman Dahal, Co-Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, and senior leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

The program, which will conclude this evening, has drawn participation from leaders and cadres from all eight districts of Madhes Province.
