Nepal’s Law Implementation Committee Begins Study

Nepal’s National Assembly, Legislative Management Committee has started studying the implementation status of various laws currently in effect.

The ‘Law Implementation Measurement Study and Recommendation Subcommittee’ formed by the committee has begun studying the implementation status of various federal laws.

The subcommittee, formed under the chairmanship of MP Anjan Shakya, consists of MPs Khamba Bahadur Khatri, Jhakka Prasad Subedi, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Rajendra Lakshmi Gaihre, Ram Kumari Jhankri, and Vishnu Devi Pudasaini as members.

The committee, under the chairmanship of Krishna Bahadur Rokaya, had formed the subcommittee on Shrawan 4.

Study and Recommendations

Subcommittee Chairman Shakya said that the subcommittee has started its work, including the study and translation of the laws, as per the responsibility assigned by the committee.

The subcommittee has been tasked with studying the laws currently in effect in Nepal, measuring law implementation, and making recommendations on the most suitable laws or provisions.

Additionally, the subcommittee will study the practices of at least three countries related to law implementation measurement, hold discussions with relevant stakeholders as needed, and submit a report to the committee within 30 days.

Separate Subcommittee Formed

The committee has also formed a separate subcommittee under the chairmanship of MP Suresh Ale Magar to study and make recommendations on inter-legislative relations.
