Nepal’s ‘Chhar Chhare Pkhuwa Devsthal’ Temple Neglected Due to Lack of Promotion

Located in Heluwa Bhanjyang, Bhujpur-1, the ‘Chhar Chhare Pkhuwa Devsthal’ temple, a site of historical and religious significance, has been neglected due to a lack of promotion.

According to locals, the temple has a tradition of special worship on the occasion of Baisakh full moon every year. Devotees from far and wide would come to visit the temple on this occasion. It is believed that visiting the temple fulfills one’s desires and that the water from the temple can cure skin problems.

Local Development Efforts

In recent times, the local government and community have taken steps to develop the temple’s infrastructure. A fence has been built to protect the deities, and a staircase has been constructed to facilitate easy access for devotees and tourists.

The site, surrounded by lush green forests and a clean environment, has the potential to become a popular destination for religious tourism. However, locals believe that more investment is needed to promote the site and develop necessary infrastructure such as information boards, rest houses, food and drink facilities, and sanitation.

Government Support

Chief District Officer Rajan Paudel, who recently visited the temple, believes that the site has great potential for development as a religious tourism destination. He suggests that with proper planning, promotion, and infrastructure development, the temple can contribute to the district’s tourism development.
