Nepal Volleyball League (NVL) is set to hold its first-ever auction today, marking a significant milestone in the country’s volleyball history.

The auction will feature 129 players, divided into two categories, with 56 players in Category A and 63 in Category B.

Six franchise teams – Sagarmatha Smashers, Madhesh Warriors, Kathmandu Reds, Annapurna Spikers Kings, Karnali Shivaraj, and Khaptad Falcons – will participate in the auction, each aiming to sign 7-7 players for their teams.

Each team has already signed a marquee player, with Sagarmatha Smashers signing Hari Hajur Thapa, Madhesh Warriors signing Rabin Nagarjoti, Kathmandu Reds signing Sunil Bohara, Annapurna Spikers Kings signing Himal Sunari, Karnali Shivaraj signing Pahl Gahatraj, and Khaptad Falcons signing Dhiraj Basnet.

The minimum price for Category A players has been set at Rs 100,000, with a maximum price of Rs 120,000, while the minimum price for Category B players is Rs 50,000, with a maximum price of Rs 70,000.

Each team will have 12 players, including 9 Nepali players and 3 foreign players, and must also include a player from the talent hunt.

The NVL is set to begin on Ashar 12, 2083, at the Covered Hall in Tripureshwar, Kathmandu.
