The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has seen a significant increase in its index, with a growth of 3.06% or 79.74 points, reaching a total of 2,677.54 points on Thursday, Ashar 1, 2083.

This growth is attributed to the new guidelines set by the Nepal Securities Board and the positive statement made by the Finance Minister regarding the stock market reform.

A total of Rs 4.57 billion worth of shares were traded on Thursday, with 1.38 million units of shares being bought and sold. Out of the 335 companies listed on the exchange, 259 saw an increase in their share prices, while only 13 saw a decrease. The share prices of two companies remained stable.

The top five companies that saw the highest growth in their share prices were Shreenagar Agro Industries, Suryakunda Hydro Electric, Shikhar Power, Ridi Hydropower, and Mid-Solu Hydropower.

However, despite the overall growth in the market, the share price of Atmanirbhar Laghubitta saw a decline of 15% and was subject to a negative circuit.

In terms of trading volume, Aankhukhola Jalvidhyut Agresthan was the top company, with a total trading volume of over Rs 22.23 million.

Other companies that saw significant trading volumes were Corporate Development Bank, Reliance Spinning Mills, Ridi Hydropower, and Ngadi Group Power.

By group, all sectors except mutual funds saw growth, with the hydropower, investment, and manufacturing sectors seeing growth of over 4%.
