Main Events

1. Increase in Nepal’s Security Spending

Some years ago, South Asian countries were caught in intense geopolitical competition and internal economic crisis.

Due to this, Nepal has increased its security spending. The government has allocated a budget of NPR 69.73 billion for the security sector in the upcoming fiscal year.

This is a significant increase compared to the previous year, with an additional NPR 4.44 billion allocated for the security sector.

Foreign University Degrees Revoked

114 individuals who obtained their degrees from foreign universities have had their degrees revoked by the Nepal Medical Council.

The council has stated that these individuals did not meet the necessary criteria for recognition of their foreign degrees in Nepal.

This decision has been made to ensure that only qualified medical professionals practice in the country.
