The government has made a 7-point decision regarding the management of contract staff working in various ministries and subordinate offices under the approved payroll.
The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration has instructed all ministries, commissions, secretariats and offices to implement the decision.
According to the decision, contract staff will be managed as per the existing rules and regulations.
The government has also decided to form a committee to study the existing contract staff management system and suggest reforms.
The committee will be headed by a joint secretary of the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration.
The decision also states that contract staff will be provided with the necessary training and capacity building opportunities.
The government has also decided to ensure that contract staff are not used as a substitute for permanent staff.
