Nepal Forms Panel to Probe Self-Immolation Incident

A judicial committee has been formed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the self-immolation attempt by Ganesh Nepal, who lost his life in the incident.

The decision to form the committee was made during a meeting of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, according to Education Minister Sashmita Pokharel, who is also the government spokesperson.

The committee, led by former Supreme Court Justice Keshav Prasad Bhattarai, will look into the facts surrounding the incident.

Ganesh Nepal, a 25-year-old from Mugu, had attempted self-immolation in front of the Revenue Office in Tripureshwar, Kathmandu, and later succumbed to his injuries at Bir Hospital.
