Land Prices in Nepal’s Capital City Surge

Land prices in Nepal’s capital city have surged, with the government setting new rates for various areas.

The Kathmandu District Land Revenue Office has increased land prices by 10% compared to the previous fiscal year. According to the new rates, land prices in areas such as Kesharmahal, Jamal, Thamel, New Road, and Maitighar have been set at Rs 7.66 million per ana.

The office has also set a minimum land price of Rs 1.1 million per ana. Other areas with high land prices include Ratna Park, Old Bus Park, and Sahid Gate, where the price has been set at Rs 7.62 million per ana.

In the Putalisadak area, land prices have been set at Rs 5.6 million per ana, up from Rs 5.324 million in the previous fiscal year. In the Chabahil area, land prices have been set at Rs 6.27 million per ana, up from Rs 5.7 million.

However, it’s worth noting that actual land transactions often take place at prices much higher than the government-set rates.

Land Prices in Other Areas

In the Bhaktapur district, land prices have remained largely unchanged compared to the previous fiscal year. In the Katunje area, land prices have been set at Rs 4 million per ana, while in the Kauwaltar Balkot area, the price has been set at Rs 2.165 million per ana.

In other parts of the country, land prices have also seen minimal increases. The Bharatpur Metropolitan City has also kept land prices unchanged from the previous fiscal year.
