Ashar 29, 2083, Kathmandu. The KMCC Hatbazar 2083, organized by the KMCC Entrepreneurship Club and KMCC Media Reachout Club in association with the KMCC Student Quality Circle, has concluded.
The event, which embodied the spirit of ‘Learning Hands, Earning Hands,’ provided an effective platform for students to showcase their entrepreneurial skills, creativity, innovation, and leadership abilities in a practical manner.
The chief guest at the event was former Miss Nepal 2018, young entrepreneur, and member of the House of Representatives, Anushka Shrestha. The event was formally inaugurated by the Principal of Kathmandu Model College, Surendra Suvedi, and the Principal of Kathmandu Model Secondary School, Dr. Nagendra Aryal.
Assistant Principal Dhruva Prasad Timalsena expressed the opening remarks, stating that such events inspire students to think creatively, become self-reliant, and gain practical business experience.
This year’s Hatbazar saw active participation from students of Kathmandu Model College, KMCC Bagbazar, KMSS Bagbazar, KMSS Lalitpur, and MIT College, all under the KMCC Education Network. Students from various institutions had the opportunity to showcase their entrepreneurial ideas, creativity, and market management skills on a single platform.
The event featured 32 diverse stalls, where students displayed and sold a range of products, including delicious food, fashionable clothing, handmade jewelry, handicrafts, home decor, and handmade flowers. Each stall presented an excellent example of students’ creativity, innovative thinking, and business potential.
With the participation of nearly 2,000 students and visitors, the event provided many students with their first opportunity to sell their own products, interact directly with customers, and gain real-world market experience. This experience imparted valuable lessons on entrepreneurship, customer service, market management, and business operations.
During the closing ceremony, the best-performing stalls were awarded cash prizes and certificates by Assistant Principal Dhruva Prasad Timalsena, BBA and BBM Program Chief Sagar Kharel, BA and BBS Program Chief Elisa Rajopadhaya, and teacher Damodar Lamsal.
‘Studio Chrome’ won the award for the most innovative stall, along with a cash prize of Rs 5,000, for its attractive home decor concept. Similarly, ‘Tech Hub’ from KMCC Bagbazar won the ‘People’s Choice Award’ and a cash prize of Rs 5,000 for its entertaining and creative games.
On the same occasion, the Art and Literature Club organized a mehndi competition, where Sanam Yadav and Garima Phuyal, both second-year BBM students, won the first prize and a cash award of Rs 2,500. Parwati Rawal and Jyasmine Khatun, both fourth-year BBA students, secured the second prize and a cash award of Rs 1,500. The competition further encouraged students’ creativity, artistic talent, and participation.
