Nepal’s Meteorological Forecasting Division has predicted heavy rainfall in several parts of the country today, with the monsoon low-pressure system remaining active.

The division has stated that the monsoon low-pressure system’s trough is currently located near the western part of the country, while the eastern part is experiencing a low-pressure system near the surface. As a result, various regions of the country are expected to experience rainfall.

Currently, light to moderate rainfall is occurring in some hilly areas of the Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in one or two places in the Koshi and Karnali provinces. The division has predicted that today will be mostly cloudy across the country, with moderate rainfall and thunderstorms expected in many hilly areas and some parts of the Tarai region.

Heavy Rainfall Warning

The Meteorological Forecasting Division has warned of heavy rainfall in several provinces, including Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Koshi, and Karnali. The division has urged people in these areas to exercise caution, as heavy rainfall can lead to flash floods, landslides, and soil erosion.

The division has also warned that daily life, agriculture, health services, tourism, mountaineering, and road and air transportation may be affected by the heavy rainfall.
