Kathmandu. The Nepali film ‘Gaunthali’ has been released nationwide today (Friday) under the Friday Release banner. The film has secured a solo release across the country, occupying all theaters.
The movie, which premiered at the Civil Mall a few days ago, received praise from all quarters. It is based on the true story of Nepali rural society before the 2060s and highlights the plight of women in those times.
The film, directed by Kapil Rijal, is a presentation of Bhola Rijal Productions and Suman Giri Productions. The cast includes Arun Khetri, Simran Khadka, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Prakash Ghimire, Luniva Tuladhar, Ravindra Jha, Ishwari Baral, Sanjog Rasaili, Sitadevi Timilsina, Laxminath Timilsina, and Rajendra Nepal.
Child artists Anshu Oli and Prince Nepal have also acted in the film. Sarala Rijal is the executive producer, while Suman Giri and Dr. Kapil Rijal are the producers. Indu Giri, Manish Rijal, Pralay Rijal, and Jeevan Oli are the co-producers.
The film is based on a story by Dr. Bhola Rijal, and the screenplay and dialogue are written by director Dr. Kapil Rijal, along with Nischal Koirala, Neeraj Nepal, and Giriraj Ghimire. Giriraj Ghimire is the chief assistant director, while Hari Humagain is the cinematographer and Milan Shrestha is the editor.
