Former NBA player Baron Davis is facing a lawsuit from his sister, Lissa Davis, who alleges he sold a house he helped her purchase nearly 20 years ago without her knowledge or consent.
Lissa claims in the lawsuit that she had a life-threatening health issue after the birth of her son in 2008 and asked her brother for financial assistance. She alleges that Baron convinced her to sell her home in Northridge, California, promising to buy her a new one through his realtors.
According to the lawsuit, Baron asked to keep the title to the new home in his name for tax purposes. Lissa says she then invested all of her savings into fixing up the new home with her husband.
However, Lissa claims that she discovered in January that Baron was selling the house through a third-party realtor, without informing her. She is now suing him for fraud, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and other claims, seeking an unspecified amount of damages.
