Former Lawmaker Laxmi Mahato Released

Janakpur. Former lawmaker Laxmi Mahato Koiri has been released from prison.

The Supreme Court ordered her release, and she was freed from Mahottari Prison.

A joint bench of Supreme Court Justices Kumar Regmi and Shreekant Paudel ordered her release on Thursday.

Her son, Manoj Kumar Mahato, had filed a habeas corpus petition claiming that his mother was being held illegally, prompting the court to issue the order.
