Five Arrested for Consuming Narcotics Inside Government Office in Nepal

Five individuals, including a government employee, have been arrested for allegedly consuming narcotics inside a government office in Bardiya, Nepal.

The arrests were made after a service seeker reported the incident to the District Administration Office in Bardiya, according to Chief District Officer Gogan Bahadur Hamal.

Hamal stated that the suspects were found in the office’s security room and have been sent for a health examination to confirm whether they had consumed narcotics.

The arrests were made based on a tip-off, and the suspects were found consuming narcotics, according to the District Police Office.

Those arrested include Yuvraj Acharya, a procurement officer at the office, and Gun Bahadur Chaudhary, a driver at the same office. The other three suspects are Santosh Rana, a government employee at the Gulariya Land Revenue Office, and Bichauliya Subha Tharu and Dil Maya Dangi, both residents of Gulariya Municipality.

An investigation is underway, according to Naib Sub Inspector Resham Bohara of the District Police Office in Bardiya.
