CJP Urges Sonam Wangchuk to End Hunger Strike

A political party has urged Sonam Wangchuk to end his hunger strike, saying his health is of utmost importance.

The Communist Party of India (CPI) wrote a letter to Sonam Wangchuk, saying his sacrifice has inspired thousands of students across the country.

“Dear Sonam, with utmost respect and gratitude, we request you to end your hunger strike,” the letter read. “Your sacrifice has inspired thousands of students across the country. On July 20, youths from various states came out in support of you and this movement.”

The letter also stated that Sonam’s health is of utmost importance, especially at this time. “You have shown that this fight is not just about one person, but about every student who wants justice in the examination system,” it read. “However, at this time, it is most important for you to take care of your health.”

The CPI assured Sonam that the movement will not end with his hunger strike. “We will continue this fight with full force and our struggle will continue until our demand for justice in the examination system is met,” the letter read.

Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of CPI, also released a video on X, urging Sonam to end his hunger strike. “The country needs Sonam Wangchuk. His life is precious and cannot be put at risk,” Dipke said. “Our demands will not be met until we continue our peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar.”
