Chitwan. With the start of the main paddy planting season, the distribution of chemical fertilizers has gained momentum in Chitwan.

Agricultural Materials Company Limited, Bharatpur branch, has been distributing fertilizers through online system to the listed cooperatives throughout the district, and has sold 969.175 metric tons of chemical fertilizers in 15 days.

According to the branch chief, Rajan Bagale, 668.200 metric tons of urea, 201.800 metric tons of DAP, and 99.175 metric tons of potash have been sold in the last 15 days of Ashar.

Bagale informed that the fertilizers are being distributed through 278 listed cooperatives in the district through an online system, which has made the distribution process systematic and transparent.

"After the distribution system went online, the work has become much easier," Bagale said. "All the details, including how much fertilizer each cooperative has sold and how much is left in stock, are clearly visible in the system. No one can engage in irregularities, and the cooperatives have to update their records daily."

According to the office records, the highest amount of fertilizer was sold in Bharatpur Metropolitan City. In Bharatpur, 239.150 metric tons of urea, 197.050 metric tons of DAP, and 22.225 metric tons of potash were distributed.

Similarly, in Madi Municipality, 115.000 metric tons of urea and 9.500 metric tons of potash were sold, while in Khairhani Municipality, 90.100 metric tons of urea and 19.100 metric tons of potash were sold.

The company has stated that it has made necessary arrangements to provide fertilizers to the farmers in an easy and convenient manner, as the demand for fertilizers is expected to be around 2,500 to 3,000 metric tons in the district during the main paddy planting season.
