The US Central Command (Centcom) has claimed to have launched a seventh consecutive night of airstrikes on Iran, targeting energy infrastructure and other military sites.
According to a statement released by Centcom, the latest strikes targeted military infrastructure, surveillance sites, underground weapons storage facilities, and maritime capabilities.
The operation involved fighter jets, drones, warships, and other military assets.
US Military Presence in the Middle East
Centcom stated that more than 50,000 US military personnel are deployed in the Middle East and are prepared for a deadly attack.
The command also rejected claims made by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Earlier, two oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz were reportedly hit by mines, resulting in explosions, after the US launched a new wave of airstrikes.
Prior to this, Centcom announced the start of the latest wave of airstrikes, stating that the operation’s objective is to weaken Iran’s military capabilities.
