A man has been arrested in Lamjung for allegedly vandalizing statues of national poet Bhanubhakta Acharya and Ghansi Khand Bahadur Thapa Magar.
According to the police, the arrested individual is 34-year-old Roshan Kunwar from Byas Municipality-7 in Tanahun.
The statues, located in the Bhanu Ghansi Dialogue Park in Dui Piple Bagaincha, Madhya Nepal Municipality-4, were found damaged on Wednesday.
A team led by Police Inspector Dhruva Prasad Sharma from the Bhoreltar Area Police Office arrested Kunwar on Friday.
The Lamjung District Police Office has filed a case against Kunwar under the charge of criminal disturbance and is conducting further investigation, according to Police Inspector Gyanendra Bahadur Kshetri, the information officer.
