Two Indian women have been arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu with 8kg of cannabis.
The women, identified as 20-year-old Mona Devi Longjam and 23-year-old Oinam Eli from Manipur state in India, were detained after arriving on a Thai Airways flight from Bangkok.
According to Jeevan Niraula, a spokesperson for the Narcotics Control Bureau, the cannabis was found hidden in their suitcases.
Police also seized two passports and two mobile phones from the women.
An investigation into the incident is underway, and legal action will be taken accordingly, the Narcotics Control Bureau said.
