Nepal’s share market experienced a decline of 13.95 points on Wednesday, ending six consecutive days of gains. The NEPSE index closed at 2712 points.

The market had been on a steady rise since last Tuesday, but today’s decline saw the index drop to its lowest point of 2694 at 12:54.

Market Performance

Out of the 277 companies listed on the exchange, 77 saw their stock prices rise, while 193 experienced a decline. The trading volume also decreased, with today’s turnover standing at Rs 5.18 billion, down from Rs 6.67 billion the previous day.

Most of the group indices saw a decline, with the finance group being the sole exception, rising by 0.49%. The production and processing group also saw a slight increase of 0.45%.

The trade group experienced the largest decline, falling by 2.60%. Other groups that saw significant declines include banking, development banks, hotels and tourism, hydropower, investment, life insurance, microfinance, non-life insurance, and others.

Top Gainers and Losers

Newly listed company Everest Color saw its stock price rise by 15%. Other top gainers include Bung Hydropower, Salapa Development Bank, Piyaar Energy, and Shreenagar AgriTech.

Guardian Micro Life Insurance and Divyashwari Hydropower were among the top losers, with their stock prices falling by 3.92% and 3.67%, respectively.

The top traded companies by turnover were Ridi Power, NRN Infrastructure, Reliance Spinning Mills, Ankhu Khola Hydropower, National Hydropower, Best Finance, and City Hotel.
