Nepal’s government revenue collection and expenditure in the last fiscal year 2082/83 have fallen short of the targets.
According to the Office of the Comptroller General, the government collected 83.51% of the annual revenue target and spent 80.55% of the budget in the last fiscal year.
The government had brought a budget of Rs 1,964 billion for the last fiscal year.
By the end of Ashar, the government had collected Rs 1,582 billion in revenue and spent Rs 1,582 billion.
The government’s failure to meet the revenue collection and expenditure targets has raised concerns about the country’s economic growth and development.
