Nepal’s AJPA Demands Tax Exemption for Ride-Sharing and Electricity

Ashar 6, 2083. The Aam Janata Party (AJPA) has demanded that the government exempt ride-sharing and electricity from taxes.

AJPA Chairman and former minister Prabhu Sah welcomed the government’s announcement to withdraw the 3% tax imposed on the education and health sectors.

Chairman Sah expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Balendra Shah for the announcement through social media, stating that his party highly appreciates the decision.

Sah stated that imposing taxes on sensitive sectors like education and health, which are guaranteed as fundamental rights in the constitution, is inappropriate.

The government’s decision to withdraw the tax, taking into account the feelings and demands of the general public, is commendable, Sah added.

Furthermore, AJPA Chairman Sah has also demanded that the government exempt ride-sharing and electricity from taxes.

The government has imposed a 5% value-added tax (VAT) on ride-sharing services and electricity bills.
