Nepal Sees 66 Disasters in 24 Hours, 52 Districts Affected

Nepal has witnessed 66 disaster-related incidents in the past 24 hours, affecting 52 districts across the country.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, two people have lost their lives and 13 others have been injured in the disasters.

The authority’s data shows that eight incidents of snake bites, seven cases of fire, six floods, 17 landslides, 10 cases of continuous rainfall, one incident each of lightning and animal attack, and two earthquakes have occurred between Monday morning and Tuesday morning.

The disasters have caused damage worth over 10.7 million rupees. Seven places have reported road blockages due to the disasters.

Warning Issued for Travelers

As the monsoon season brings the risk of floods and landslides in various parts of the country, the authority has urged travelers to exercise caution.

It has advised people to avoid traveling to high-risk areas and to seek information about the weather before embarking on a journey.
