Nepal’s Home Minister Sudhan Gurung personally led a raid on two hotels in Thori, Parsa, on Thursday evening.
Minister Gurung, who was returning to Kathmandu after meeting with metered taxi victims in Simara, stopped at Thori Dohori Sanjh and Resort Thori Camp Fire Hotel and informed the police about suspected illegal activities.
A police team from the Parsa District Police Office arrived at the scene and arrested 11 people, including seven women, from the two hotels.
The hotel owners have been charged with human trafficking, while the others have been charged with immoral behavior.
A police official in Parsa said that Minister Gurung had received information about illegal activities at the hotels while on his way back to Kathmandu.
