Nepal has initiated the process of importing 30,000 metric tons of chemical fertilizers required for agricultural purposes.

The fertilizers, purchased through a global tender, have arrived at the Kolkata port in India. The transportation process to Nepal has begun, with 1,250 metric tons of fertilizers being dispatched from Wednesday.

The first shipment is expected to enter Nepal within four days. The remaining fertilizers are still being packaged at the Kolkata port, and will be transported to Nepal in phases once the packaging is complete.

The government has been working to ensure a steady supply of chemical fertilizers, essential for agricultural production. With the arrival of the latest shipment, it is expected that the availability of fertilizers for farmers will improve.
