Land Plot Division to be Halted in 400 Local Governments from Tomorrow

According to the Land Use Act, 2076, and the Land Use Rules, 2079, all local governments in the country must categorize their land into 10 categories, including agricultural, residential, industrial, forest, and mineral.

However, many local governments have failed to complete the land categorization process within the given timeframe. As a result, the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation has announced that land plot division will be halted in 405 local governments that have not completed the land categorization process.

The ministry has stated that the halt on land plot division will not affect the process of dividing land for commercial purposes. However, it will prevent the division of land for residential and other purposes.

According to the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation, 348 local governments have completed the land categorization process, while the remaining local governments are still in the process of completing it.

The ministry has also announced that the land categorization process will be completed within the next few days, and the list of local governments that have completed the process will be made public.

It is worth noting that the land categorization process is a complex and time-consuming process that requires the collection of data and the creation of maps. The process is also affected by various factors, including the availability of resources and the capacity of local governments.
