Kathmandu. A total of 836 Nepali workers are set to fly to Israel to work as caregivers in the near future.
The Population and Immigration Authority of Israel selected the workers through a lottery system in the presence of Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Shmulik Arie Bas, representatives from the Department of Foreign Employment, and media representatives.
According to a press release issued by the Israeli Embassy in Nepal, out of 1,115 participants in the lottery, 784 males and 331 females were selected.
During the event, Ambassador Bas informed that more than 2,100 job opportunities will be available in Israel’s service sector in the near future.
He also stated that the bilateral agreement on ‘Home-Based Caregiver Services’ and ‘Agricultural Workers’ has reached the implementation phase.
Under the bilateral labor agreement, Nepali workers traveling to Israel will receive minimum wages and benefits as per Israeli law, similar to local workers.
The selection process is considered another significant achievement in strengthening labor cooperation between Israel and Nepal.
Both countries have reaffirmed their commitment to transparency, fairness, and equal opportunities in the recruitment process.
