FIFA World Cup 2026: Team of the Tournament Revealed

FIFA has announced the Team of the Tournament for the 2026 World Cup, featuring 11 outstanding players from the competition.

The team includes three players each from champion Spain and runner-up France, as well as two players from Argentina, who finished third. England, Norway, and Cape Verde are also represented with one player each.

Team of the Tournament

The team, which has a 4-3-3 formation, features a mix of defenders, midfielders, and forwards. From Spain, captain Rodrigo, defender Pedro Porro, and defender Marc Cucurella made the cut. Argentina’s captain Lionel Messi and defender Lisandro Martinez are also included.

France, who lost to Argentina in the semifinals, has three players in the team: captain Kylian Mbappe, midfielder Michael Olise, and defender Dayot Upamecano. England’s Jude Bellingham is the only player from his team to make the cut.

Norway’s Erling Haaland, who led his team to the quarterfinals for the first time, is also included, along with Cape Verde’s goalkeeper Boinha, who impressed in his team’s debut World Cup appearance.

Boinha, 40, had a standout performance in Cape Verde’s opening match against Spain, holding them to a goalless draw. He also played well in the Round of 32 against Argentina.
