A Kathmandu District Court has ordered the release of businessmen Dipak Bhatt and Sulabh Agrawal on bail.
Judge Shivaprasad Acharya’s bench issued the order to release the two on bail in three separate cases.
However, they will remain in custody due to a separate order from a Special Court related to a money laundering charge.
The District Court has demanded a bail of Rs 2 crore from Sulabh Agrawal and Rs 1 crore 50 lakh from Dipak Bhatt under the Insurance Act.
In another case related to the Securities Act, the court has demanded a bail of Rs 2 crore 30 lakh from Agrawal.
The Special Court has also demanded a bail of Rs 1 crore 50 lakh from Agrawal and Rs 1 crore from Dipak Bhatt in a third case related to securities.
Both Agrawal and Bhatt are currently in custody on charges of money laundering.
Even if they pay the bail in the insurance and securities cases, they will not be released from custody due to the other case.
