Air India ranked among world’s top 5 ‘on-time performance’ airlines

Air India has been ranked among the world’s top 5 ‘on-time performance’ airlines, according to a report by aviation analytics firm Cirium.

The report, which was released in June 2026, ranked Air India as the fourth most punctual airline in the world, with an on-time performance rate of 86.85% in June 2026.

According to the report, Air India operated a total of 15,135 flights in June 2026, with 86.85% of them arriving on time. The airline’s departure rate was 86.23%, and its completion factor was 99.7%.

Air India’s success in achieving high on-time performance rates is attributed to its efforts to improve its operational efficiency, including the implementation of a robust contingency plan to manage disruptions, real-time network monitoring, and improved ground turnaround processes.

The airline has also been working to upgrade its fleet, with orders for 600 new aircraft from Airbus and Boeing. In the past six months, Air India has added three new Boeing 787-9 aircraft to its fleet, and plans to induct more Boeing 787-9 and Airbus A350-1000 aircraft by the end of 2026.

In addition to adding new aircraft, Air India has also been refurbishing its existing wide-body aircraft to improve passenger comfort and amenities.
