A 70-year-old woman has been killed in a tipper truck accident in Morang district. The incident occurred on Friday, Ashar 1, 2083, at around 4:03 pm at Shanti Chowk in Kerabari Gaunpalika-5.
The victim, Vishnumaya Magar, was hit by a tipper truck with license plate number Ko 1 Kha 6790 while crossing the road. She was rushed to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (Dharan) for treatment but succumbed to her injuries.
The police have taken the tipper truck and its driver, Vikram Majhi, 23, into custody. Majhi is a resident of Chainpur Municipality-11 in Sankhuwasabha district and currently lives in Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-13.
The police are investigating the incident further.
