A landslide in Rolpa has claimed the lives of two women who were grazing their cattle in the area.
The incident occurred in the Sun Chhari village municipality-1 in Rolpa, where the two women, identified as Amira Gharti Magar, 35, and Asoji Gharti Magar, 38, were swept away by the landslide on Friday afternoon.
According to the chairman of the Sun Chhari village municipality, Dhan Bahadur Puna, the two women were grazing their cattle in the area when the landslide occurred.
Chairman Puna also stated that a 62-year-old man, Kule Gharti, was seriously injured in the landslide and has been taken to the local health post for treatment.
The bodies of the two deceased women have been recovered, and some livestock also perished in the landslide.
According to the district police office, the landslide occurred at around 1:10 pm on Friday, and a police team was immediately deployed to the scene to initiate a search and rescue operation.
