Two Indian nationals have been arrested in Nepal on suspicion of smuggling heroin.
The arrests were made on Friday by a joint team of the Narcotics Control Bureau and the Area Police Office in Dhalkebar, following a tip-off that the two men were involved in smuggling heroin from India.
According to the District Police Office, the two men, identified as Santosh Kumar Mahato, 26, from Harlakhi, India, and Mithilesh Kumar Sah, 45, from Basopatti, India, were caught with 103.220 grams of a brown substance suspected to be heroin.
The police had to fire a warning shot to apprehend the suspects, who were trying to flee, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhusudan Nyapane.
The two men are currently being held for further investigation.
