Two individuals have been arrested with a large quantity of controlled medicines in Chandragiri, Kathmandu.

According to the Armed Police Force, Nepal, the arrests were made on Sunday afternoon from Dhunge Adda in Chandragiri Municipality-15.

The arrested individuals have been identified as 39-year-old Anil Deula from Paga Dobato in Kirtipur Municipality-9, and 24-year-old Sumitra Rai, a resident of Naikap in Chandragiri Municipality-4, originally from Gaighat in Udayapur.

The arrests were made based on information that Anil Deula was involved in the trade of controlled medicines. A team from the Armed Police Force’s Intelligence Bureau conducted the operation.

Seized Items

The police team seized 15,000 capsules of Tramadol, a controlled medicine, from the two individuals. The medicines were found in 50 boxes.

Additionally, a scooter with license plate number Ba 77 Pa 7800, which was used by the arrested individuals, has been impounded by the police.

From Deula’s residence, the police also seized 1,188 Diazepam tablets, 3,770 Tramadol tablets, and 150 Pholcodine tablets.

Cash amounting to Rs 139,165 and three mobile phones were also confiscated from the residence.

Further Action

According to DSP Shailendra Thapa of the Armed Police Force, the arrested individuals, along with the seized items, will be handed over to the concerned authorities for further action.
