A jeep accident in Nepal’s far western region has claimed the lives of two people and injured three others.

The incident occurred on Shrawan 2, 2083, at around 2 am in Kharshyakhana of Amargadhi Municipality-7 in Doti district.

The jeep, with license plate number Su.Pra.Pa 01 – 00 1 J 1850, was heading towards Darchula from Dhangadhi when it met with the accident.

According to the District Police Office in Doti, the deceased have been identified as Sugan Lothyal, 45, and Hanu Lothyal, 28, both from Apihim Municipality-1 in Darchula.

Three Injured in the Accident

The injured include Amarsingh Thagunna, 50, from Marmakot Municipality in Darchula, Saraswati Lothyal, 35, from Apihim Municipality-1, and Amrit Ghareedi, the jeep driver from Dilasaini Municipality-2 in Baitadi.

All three injured are undergoing treatment at the Doti Hospital.

The jeep fell around 400 meters below the road, but the cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.
