Two Arrested for Duping People with Foreign Job Offers

Two individuals have been arrested on charges of duping people with promises of lucrative jobs in New Zealand and Portugal.

The suspects, Raj Kumar Bhandari, 51, from Tarkeshwor Municipality-10 in Kathmandu, and Suresh Ghimire, 29, from Budhanilkantha Municipality-12 in Kathmandu, were taken into custody on Friday.

According to the Nepal Police Central News Desk, Bhandari had allegedly taken 300,000 rupees from two victims, promising them jobs in New Zealand, while Ghimire had taken 1.8 million rupees from one victim, promising a job in Portugal.

The arrests were made based on complaints filed by the victims, who claimed that the suspects had gone incommunicado after receiving the money.

The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office had launched an investigation into the matter, leading to the arrest of the suspects.

The two have been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal, Kathmandu, for further investigation and action.
