The Special Court has made significant progress in the fiscal year 2082/83, despite various challenges and obstacles. The court, which was affected by the Jangi movement on Bhadra 24, has successfully cleared 83.76% of its targeted cases.
According to the court’s spokesperson and Deputy Registrar, Krishna Sharan Lamichhane, the court had set a target to clear 185 cases, but was able to clear 155 cases, which is 59.38% of the total cases. The court has also successfully implemented its decisions, resulting in the collection of Rs 3 crore 89 lakh 95 thousand in revenue.
The court has also confiscated land worth over 17 ropani 4 ana in the Kathmandu Valley and has imposed a fine of Rs 1 crore 56 lakh 77 thousand. The court has also made significant progress in its efforts to become a ‘smart court’, with the introduction of online facilities for filing cases and receiving information.
However, the court still faces challenges, including a lack of budget, inadequate infrastructure, and a shortage of staff. Despite these challenges, the court is committed to ensuring that justice is delivered within the stipulated timeframe and that it is accessible to all.
