President Ram Chandra Paudel has stressed the importance of prioritizing human well-being and environmental sustainability in development endeavors.

Speaking at a program organized by the Engineers Association to mark its 64th anniversary, President Paudel emphasized that development should be centered on the welfare of the people and the prosperity of the nation.

He noted that development should not overlook history, geography, culture, and diversity, while also addressing the needs and aspirations of the present time and future generations.

President Paudel highlighted the need to accelerate production, employment, and economic activities while also addressing the challenges posed by climate change.

He emphasized that the country’s infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and hydropower projects, should be resilient to natural disasters and based on the principles of green development.

The President also underscored the importance of federal democratic republicanism in addressing various aspects of development and human interests.

He noted that the beauty of democracy lies not only in its ideals but also in its practical application and behavior.

President Paudel emphasized that the future of any country depends on the thoughts, energy, and capabilities of its youth.

He expressed concern over the increasing trend of skilled young engineers seeking employment opportunities abroad, which he described as a matter of concern for the country.

The President urged the government and private sector to create sufficient opportunities, fair evaluation, and a friendly environment for young engineers and architects in the country.
