Our Leadership Will Establish Good Governance and Prosperity: Khagaraj Bhatta

Sudurpashchim Province is on the verge of a government change. Khagaraj Bhatta, the leader of the Nepali Congress parliamentary party, is considered a key contender for the chief minister’s position. In an interview, Bhatta discussed the possibility of a new government, his own candidacy, and the party’s priorities.

Bhatta stated that the change in government is a natural process in a democratic system and that the goal is to provide effective leadership to the province. He emphasized that the party’s priority is to establish good governance, ensure transparent budget allocation, and implement development projects effectively.

Bhatta also mentioned that the party is in talks with other political parties, including the Congress and the Maoist Center, to form a new government. He expressed confidence that an agreement can be reached, prioritizing the interests of the province.

Regarding the Rastriya Prajatantra Party’s (RPP) demand for the dissolution of the province, Bhatta stated that any changes to the federal structure must be made through constitutional procedures, which require a two-thirds majority. He emphasized that the people have chosen the federal system, and any disagreements must be addressed through democratic and constitutional means.

If Bhatta becomes the chief minister, he plans to focus on controlling corruption, increasing capital expenditures, and making the budget implementation process more effective. He also aims to promote economic activities, create employment opportunities, and improve the delivery of services to the people.

Bhatta expressed his commitment to working for the betterment of the province and its people, ensuring that the government is accountable and transparent. He emphasized that the party is working towards establishing a strong foundation for good governance and prosperity in Sudurpashchim Province.
