Opposition must be included for government’s stability: Raghuvir Mahaseth

Kathmandu. Raghuvir Mahaseth, Vice-Chairman of the CPN-UML, has stated that a government that suppresses the opposition will not last long.

In a program organized in Janakpur, Vice-Chairman Mahaseth suggested that the government should move forward in cooperation with the opposition.

He mentioned that the current government has not been effective even after four months of its formation and that it should take all parties along.

Commenting on the recent victory of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in the Madhes Province, Mahaseth said that the RSP should also work in accordance with the sentiments of the Madhesi people.

He criticized the government’s new tax policies on education, health, and land transactions, which came into effect from Ashar 1, 2083.

Mahaseth argued that the increased tax burden on basic necessities such as education and health is unjust and that the government should take this issue seriously.

He emphasized the importance of the private sector in the country’s economy and stated that it plays a crucial role in the overall economic development and employment generation of the country.

Mahaseth also mentioned that the current global economic challenges, including the Iran-Israel conflict and rising inflation, have affected Nepal as well.
