Nine individuals, including four foreign nationals, have been taken into custody by the District Police Office, Kaski, in connection with a series of thefts in Pokhara.
Indian nationals Rahul Nishad and Somnath Hanumant Jadhav, as well as Chinese nationals Wen Jie and Wang Liangying, were arrested on charges of involvement in the thefts.
Additionally, five Nepali nationals – Raj Kumar Vik of Syangja’s Chapakot, Keshav Paija Magar of Pokhara Metropolitan City-16, Khim Bahadur Kshetri of Annapurna Rural Municipality-7, Ashok Pokhrel of Arghakhanchi’s Bhumeenasthan Municipality-3, and Anil Vikal of Baglung’s Baglung Municipality-12 – were also taken into custody.
According to Police Inspector Birendra Kumar Paswan, cash, gold, mobile phones, laptops, and other items were recovered from the suspects.
The arrested individuals have been remanded in custody by the Kaski District Court on charges of theft and will undergo further investigation.
The police had been conducting a thorough investigation into the series of thefts that had been occurring in various locations in Pokhara.
