Nepal’s taekwondo athlete Vaibhavi Sapkota has won two medals, including a gold, at the Hainan Cup International Invitational Taekwondo Competition in China.
Sapkota won the gold medal in the Poomsae event and a silver medal in the Kyorugi event at the tournament held at the Tunchang County Stadium in Haikou City, Hainan Province.
The competition saw participation from athletes from several countries, including South Korea, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Pakistan.
In the final round of the Poomsae event, Sapkota defeated athletes from Thailand and China to win the gold medal. In the highly competitive Kyorugi event, she lost to Thailand in the final round to settle for the silver medal.
