Nepal’s Sugarcane Farmers Suspend Protest After Government Assurance

Sugarcane farmers in Rautahat, who have been waiting for government subsidies for a long time, may finally see their issues resolved.

Following a discussion at the District Administration Office in Rautahat on Thursday, the government has agreed to move forward with the subsidy payment process within seven days, after receiving the necessary documents.

The Sugarcane Farmers’ Union in Rautahat has suspended their protest following the government’s assurance.
