Nepal’s Politics Directionless, Says CPN-UML Chairman Oli

Nepal Communist Party (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has stated that the country’s politics has become directionless, lawless, and baseless.

Addressing an interaction with party lawmakers at the party office on Sunday, Oli said the country’s politics has been directionless since Ashar 23 and 24, 2083.

Oli alleged that the current government was formed on the basis of murder, violence, vandalism, and arson, despite the existence of legal and constitutional provisions for changing governments in a democracy.

He also criticized the government for not engaging in logical discussions and instead resorting to attacks whenever someone makes a comment.

Oli accused the current government of being born out of destruction, not revolution.

He also alleged that the government has been spreading rumors on social media.

Furthermore, Oli stated that the government has been threatening the people who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and instead of working to uplift the economy, it has been involved in activities that have pushed the poor further into poverty.

Party’s Popularity

Oli claimed that there have been attempts to make the UML unpopular in a planned manner and urged party lawmakers to raise the issues of the people and regain the trust of the public.

He directed the lawmakers to strongly raise the issues of the country and the people in the upcoming days in the parliament.

Use of Technology

Oli acknowledged that the UML has fallen behind in terms of technology and said that the party can achieve success only if it uses technology effectively.

During the program, lawmakers suggested that the party has fallen behind in the virtual world and emphasized the importance of using information technology and digital media.

They also suggested that the party should have its own IT secretary and that the lawmakers should present their views and activities in the parliament in an effective manner through digital media.
