Nepal’s National Independence Under Threat, Says Prachanda

Nepal’s national independence is under threat, according to Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, co-chair of the Nepal Communist Party and former prime minister.

Speaking at a programme organised at the party’s central office in Paris Danda, Kathmandu, on Saturday to mark the 13th memorial day of Nar Bahadur Karmacharya, Prachanda said the communist movement in the country has suffered a setback and needs to be unified again.

‘We must resolve to address the crisis facing the country’s national independence, tackle the extraordinary difficulties facing the communist movement, and unify it once again,’ he said.

Prachanda also stressed the need to revive the communist movement and take the country’s leadership. ‘The time has come for us to revive the communist movement and take the country’s leadership,’ he said.

He also expressed concern over the threat to the country’s independence and the difficulties facing the communist movement, saying it was essential to address these challenges and unify the movement.

‘At a time when the communist movement in Nepal has suffered a setback, we must remember leaders like Comrade Pushpa Lal and Comrade Nar Bahadur Karmacharya and resolve to unify the movement once again,’ he said.

Prachanda also warned that the country was witnessing an authoritarian trend and that it was necessary to launch a struggle against it once again.
