Nepal’s Koshi Province Sees Renewed Political Turmoil

Renewed political turmoil has hit Koshi Province in Nepal as the Nepali Congress is reportedly set to pull out of the provincial government.

According to sources, the current provincial government was formed under Article 168, Subsection 5 of the Constitution, which allows for the formation of a government with the support of two or more parties.

Chief Minister Karki has stated that if the Nepali Congress withdraws its support, the provincial government may collapse, leading to the dissolution of the provincial assembly.

The move is seen as a significant development in the province’s politics, which has been marked by instability in recent times.
