Nepal’s Government Criticized for Irresponsibility

Nepal’s government has been criticized for its lack of accountability and irresponsibility, with opposition leaders accusing it of failing to address pressing national issues.

Speaking at a program organized by his party in Biratnagar, Hark Sampang, chairman of the Shramik Sakti Party and a member of the House of Representatives, said the government had become ineffective in addressing the country’s problems.

Sampang criticized the prime minister’s working style and his lack of interest in parliamentary proceedings. He said the prime minister rarely attends parliamentary sessions and when he does, it is only for a short time.

The opposition leader also accused the government of being insensitive to the country’s economic situation and various sectoral problems. He said that despite repeated questions being raised in parliament about the problems faced by industrialists, traders, businessmen, construction entrepreneurs, farmers, and workers, the government had failed to provide satisfactory answers.

Economic Woes

Sampang said that the government had failed to come up with a suitable policy to control prices, which had risen sharply since Ashar 1, 2083. He said that the prices of essential commodities, including petroleum products, had increased, affecting the common people.

The opposition leader also expressed concern over the country’s increasing foreign debt and lack of productivity. He said that the government was running the country’s affairs by taking foreign loans every year.

Party’s Philosophy

Sampang clarified his party’s philosophy of ‘shram sanskriti’ (culture of labor), saying that it was not about exploiting others’ labor for personal gain. He said that his party believed in producing enough and feeding the hungry.

He also emphasized the importance of labor, saying that it was the greatest strength of any country. Sampang expressed his belief that no work was small and that labor could make a country prosperous.
