The Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) is organizing a special interaction program today to make the role of its lawmakers more effective and responsible in the federal parliament.
The program, organized by the party’s parliamentary department, will be held at the party’s central office in Chyasal from 11 am. Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli will provide training to the CPN-UML lawmakers on their roles and responsibilities in the parliament.
According to party secretary and parliamentary department chief Padma Aryal, former secretary of the parliament secretariat Harikaraj Rai will provide information on the work, duties, powers, and jurisdiction of the parliament secretariat and the parliamentary committees.
General Secretary Shankar Pokharel will provide training on the party’s policies and the duties of the lawmakers. Pokharel will also clarify how the lawmakers should work in accordance with the party’s policies and how they should coordinate and consult with the party’s departments.
Aryal informed that the program aims to make the role of the CPN-UML lawmakers more effective and responsible in the parliament.
The program will also include a discussion on the topics suggested by the related departments, and a ‘roster’ of experts will be prepared to provide necessary consultations to the lawmakers on parliamentary subjects.
