Nepal’s CPN-UML party is set to provide training to its Members of Parliament (MPs) on their roles and responsibilities in the parliament.

According to party secretary and deputy leader of the parliamentary party, Padma Aryal, the training program will be held at the party’s central office in Kathmandu.

Party chairman KP Sharma Oli will provide training to the MPs on their roles in the parliament, while former secretary of the parliament secretariat, Harikrishna Rai, will brief the MPs on the functions, duties, and powers of the parliament secretariat.

Rai will also provide information on the powers and jurisdictions of parliamentary committees and the issues that need to be raised in the committees.

Party general secretary Shankar Pokharel will provide training on the party’s policies and the responsibilities of the MPs.

Aryal said that the MPs need to work in accordance with the party’s policies and therefore, they need to coordinate and consult with the party’s departments.

All department heads and former members of the departments have been invited to participate in the program.
